Setup Guide That Feels Easy

We built this to be calm, clear, and fun — even if you are setting up a NAS for the first time. Follow the steps below to get storage, sharing, and backup ready in minutes.

Connect power and Ethernet, then turn the NAS on.

Open your browser and visit the NAS dashboard.

Create a shared folder and connect it on your computer.

Find Your NAS

Use your router list or our discovery URL.

Open your router app and find the NAS IP address.

Type http://<NAS-IP> in a browser.

Set Up Storage

Diskless? Add drives and follow the storage wizard.

Insert your hard disks and reboot the NAS.

Choose recommended RAID for safety and performance.

Create a Share

This makes the NAS visible on your devices.

Go to “Shared Folders” in the NAS dashboard.

Create a folder (example: Media).

Connect With SMB (Windows, macOS, Linux)

Windows

Open File Explorer and click “This PC”.

Select “Map network drive”.

Enter: \\\\<NAS-IP>\\Media

macOS

Open Finder and click “Go → Connect to Server”.

Enter: smb://<NAS-IP>/Media

Sign in with your NAS username and password.

Linux

Open Files and click “Other Locations”.

Enter: smb://<NAS-IP>/Media

Save the connection for quick access later.

Make It Fun (and Safe)

Make a “Family” Share

Create a shared folder for photos and memories. Everyone gets their own login.

Enable Snapshots

Snapshots protect you from accidental deletions. Turn them on once and relax.

Remote Access (Optional)

Use Tailscale or Cloudflare for safe access from outside your home.
